About the Role

We are a fast-growing short-term rental management company overseeing a large portfolio of properties across Toronto and the U.S. We are looking for an experienced Lead Cleaning Specialist to support daily cleaning operations across our properties.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will still be actively cleaning, while also helping train new cleaners, perform quality inspections, and ensure all units meet our standards before guest check-in.

This role is ideal for someone with strong cleaning experience who takes pride in quality and enjoys leading by example.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning & Quality Leadership

  • Perform cleans to company standards across assigned properties
  • Ensure all cleanings are completed on time and to quality expectations
  • Conduct spot checks and quality inspections
  • Handle re-cleans and quality corrections when required
  • Ensure units are guest-ready and inspection-passed

Training & Team Support

  • Train new cleaners on cleaning checklists and expectations
  • Demonstrate proper cleaning techniques and workflows
  • Support coaching and retraining for quality issues
  • Lead by example in professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail

Coordination & Support

  • Assist with daily cleaner assignments and coverage
  • Communicate issues or concerns to management
  • Help track cleaning supplies and flag restocking needs
  • Support urgent turnovers and last-minute schedule changes
  • Work closely with operations and maintenance teams

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-year hands-on cleaning experience (short-term rentals, hotels, or residential)
  • Experience training or guiding other cleaners
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Reliable, punctual, and accountable
  • Comfortable giving feedback and correcting mistakes
  • Calm and solutions-focused under pressure
  • Physically able to perform cleaning duties
  • Comfortable using checklists, schedules, or mobile tools

Nice to Have

  • Experience as a lead cleaner or supervisor
  • Experience with inspections or quality control
  • Familiarity with Airbnb / short-term rental turnovers
  • Experience supporting multiple properties
