The Operations Manager reports to Director of Operations and has around 12 shift supervisor directly reporting to them.
What you will be doing:
As the Operations Manager at Rockwool Grand Forks, you’ll lead daily manufacturing operations while cultivating a high-performance culture focused on safety, continuous improvement, and equipment reliability across two production lines. This role offers significant opportunities for professional development and advancement within Rockwool’s global organization, making it ideal for ambitious leaders eager to grow their careers.
Key Responsibilities

Drive Safety Culture: Foster and maintain a safety-first environment, promoting proactive safety behavior for all employees and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Operational Leadership: Lead plant operations to improve processes, maximize equipment efficiency, and ensure targets for output, quality, and costs are met or exceeded.

Continuous Improvement: Utilize root cause failure analyses to eliminate recurring issues and champion ongoing process improvement and Operational Excellence.

Planning & Budget Adherence: Oversee production planning and scheduling, ensuring all processes run within budgeted outputs and efficiencies.
-
Collaboration & Communication: Partner with Maintenance, Product Development, Projects, and Quality departments to drive integrated improvements that enhance process and equipment capabilities.
-
Equipment Reliability: Monitor and enhance equipment reliability, collaborating on preventative and corrective actions to maximize uptime.
-
Team Development: Communicate effectively with team members and peers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering ongoing development within the team.
-
Performance Tracking: Manage and report on operational KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), providing actionable insights to drive performance.
What you bring:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
-
5+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial operations, preferably with experience in equipment-intensive environments.
-
Demonstrated experience leading teams and driving safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
-
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
-
Proficient in the use of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is preferred.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The annual salary range for this role is $130,000 - $160,000. Your base salary is determined based on location, experience and the pay of employees in similar positions. This position is bonus eligible.
