Full job description

Exceed Robotics was founded by a team of mechanical, computer and software engineers who share the passion to teach Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) to our younger generations through our robotics program. We work to inspire children to explore the exciting world of engineering and technology and do our part in shaping a data-driven, innovative culture essential for our future economy. Our vision is to be the premier source of STEM education, attracting inquisitive minds and cultivating future innovators.

Responsibilities

  • Exceed Robotics instructors teach students programming, electronics, and computer design in a hands-on, interactive classroom environment.
  • Deliver various programs including graphical programming, C/C++, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, computer design (Onshape), Arduino programming, and 3D printing.
  • Teach classes during evenings and weekends for students aged 7–15 (grouped by age levels).
  • Participate in camps offered during March Break, summer, and winter for additional teaching hours.

Qualifications

  • Passion for teaching and mentoring young students.
  • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • Availability to teach at least two weeknights and one weekend day.
  • Availability to teach year-round.
  • Knowledge of programming (Python and/or C/C++ and/or Java and/or HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
  • Experience with microcontrollers (Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi) is an asset.
  • Experience with computer design (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or Blender) is an asset.
  • Experience teaching or working with children is an asset.
  • Strong classroom management skills.

Teaching Hours

Weeknight and weekend hours can be discussed, below is a general requirement:

  • Two weeknight shifts: Thursdays/Fridays: 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • One weekend shift: Saturday/Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (with 1-hour unpaid meal break)

Pay: $18.00-$21.50 per hour

Education:

  • Secondary School (required)

Experience:

  • 3D design: 1 year (preferred)
  • programming: 2 years (preferred)
  • Python programming: 1 year (preferred)
  • teaching minors: 1 year (preferred)
  • Arduino: 1 year (preferred)
