Full job description

Intermediate to Senior Project Lead

Interior Designer or Architectural Technologist

Edmonton, Alberta | Full-Time

We’re Growing in Edmonton

There is a lot happening at Holland in Edmonton, and we’re excited about what comes next.

Holland Licensed Interior Design is looking for an Intermediate to Senior Project Lead to join our growing Edmonton studio. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to join a smaller local team, take on meaningful responsibility and be part of building Holland’s presence in YEG.

Our Edmonton studio may be newer, but Holland isn’t. We bring more than 15 years of award-winning experience in Alberta, with an established Calgary studio and the mentorship, systems, project experience and team support that come with it.

It’s a great opportunity to experience the energy and potential of a growing Edmonton studio while having the support of an established design firm behind you.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for someone who wants to take ownership of projects, build relationships, contribute ideas and grow alongside the studio.

As a Project Lead, you’ll work closely with our Edmonton Principal and local team while collaborating regularly with our broader Calgary studio. You’ll have access to senior mentorship and technical support while still having the opportunity to make a visible impact on the Edmonton team and the projects coming through it.

Our work is diverse, with particular strength and growing opportunity in healthcare, workplace and commercial interiors.

Depending on your experience and strengths, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead commercial interior projects from concept through construction
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with clients
  • Lead programming, planning and design conversations
  • Develop thoughtful, human-centred design solutions
  • Translate design intent into well-coordinated technical documentation
  • Manage project schedules, deliverables and workflow
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors and other project partners
  • Participate in site reviews and contract administration
  • Mentor and support junior team members
  • Collaborate with our Calgary studio and draw on the experience of our broader team
  • Help strengthen Holland’s relationships within the Edmonton design and construction community
  • Play an active role in the continued growth of our Edmonton studio

What You Bring

There isn’t only one educational path to being successful in this position.

You may come from a design background with a Bachelor of Interior Design, or you may bring a strong technical foundation as an Architectural Technologist. We see value in both.

More important is your ability to think critically, understand how spaces come together and confidently move projects forward.

Ideally, you bring:

  • Approximately 5+ years of relevant professional experience, with flexibility for the right intermediate or senior candidate
  • A Bachelor of Interior Design or diploma/credential in Architectural Technology
  • Experience working on commercial interior projects
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of construction documentation
  • Experience coordinating consultants and project deliverables
  • Confidence communicating directly with clients, contractors and consultants
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Initiative, accountability and the confidence to work independently when required
  • A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in continuing to learn
  • An understanding of human-centred design and the impact our environments have on people
  • Healthcare and/or corporate workplace experience is considered a strong asset

We’re looking for someone who can balance design thinking with strong technical execution and understands that successful projects need both.

Why Holland?

Holland is a female led, family owned Alberta design firm with studios in Calgary and Edmonton.

We’re ambitious about where we’re going, but we also care about maintaining the culture, mentorship and relationships that have helped us build Holland over the past 15 years.

We value collaboration, accountability, curiosity and initiative. We like people who care about their work, support the people around them and want to be part of building something.

Joining our Edmonton studio now is a particularly exciting opportunity. You’ll work within an intimate local team where your contribution will be noticed and your ideas will matter, while having the backbone of an established, award-winning team behind you.

For someone looking for responsibility, mentorship and room to move into greater leadership as our Edmonton studio grows, there is a lot of opportunity here.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Comprehensive benefits
  • Bonus incentive structure
  • Professional development and mentorship
  • Optional Earned Day Off program with every other Friday off
  • Diverse and meaningful project experience
  • Direct access to senior leadership and mentorship
  • A collaborative environment where you can have a real impact
  • Opportunity to grow into greater responsibility and leadership as our Edmonton studio expands

Come Grow With Us

We’re proud of the momentum Holland is building in Edmonton and excited about the projects and opportunities ahead.

We’re looking for someone who sees that opportunity too. Someone who wants to invest in the studio, grow with it and help shape what Holland in Edmonton becomes.

If that sounds like the next step you’re looking for, we’d love to meet you.
