Duties:

Reporting to the Manager of Housing, the Maintenance Repairperson performs a wide range of maintenance and repair duties within the Housing portfolio buildings.

Work Performed:

  • Performs general maintenance and minor repairs to all buildings within the housing portfolio.

  • Provides operational support through scheduling and coordinating routine, annual and emergency repairs and maintenance.

  • Responds to or reports tenant inquires or maintenance requests in accordance with established procedures.

  • Conducts move out, unit and building inspections.

  • Handles cleaning materials, supplies and tools.

  • Re-keys units and performs locksmith duties; keeps keys organized.

  • Reports defective conditions or indications of trouble to the appropriate housing staff member.

  • Assists in maintaining a safe work environment.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Community College Diploma (1 year) in Skilled Trades/Renovation Techniques/Construction/Carpentry.

  • Minimum 3-6 months related professional experience.

  • Valid Driver's Licence (Class G).

Specialized Skills, Abilities, Training, License, Memberships, or Certifications

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Building and related Codes, Housing Services Act and the Residential Tenancies Act.

  • Ability to obtain a Criminal Reference Check.
