Position Overview

At Avana, the resident experience is at the center of everything we do.

The In-House Cleaner plays an important role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of Avana’s residential buildings and community spaces. This role ensures that our residents experience a welcoming, well‑kept environment that reflects Avana’s commitment to quality and care. The In-House Cleaner supports both routine cleaning needs and project-based work, such as suite turnovers and show-suite preparation, in collaboration with the Property Management and Operations teams.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment and takes pride in creating spaces that positively impact residents’ daily lives.

What You’ll Do

• Perform daily cleaning and upkeep of common areas across assigned properties.
• Complete full floor cleaning for 3000 Trombley and the 4-building apartment complex.
• Empty and replace common area garbage receptacles.
• Conduct daily garbage and litter pick up around building exteriors.
• Support suite turnover cleaning, moving toward fully managed in house turnover processes.
• Conduct regular show suite cleans, adapting priorities based on leasing activity (e.g., open houses, high traffic periods).
• Perform touch up cleans for vacant or newly refreshed suites as required.
• Collaborate with Property Management to prioritize urgent suite needs and ensure readiness for residents.

What Success Looks Like

• Success in this role means bringing a positive attitude and strong attention to detail while maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming spaces, adapting to changing priorities, and communicating effectively with the Property Management and Operations teams.

What You'll Bring

• A minimum of one year of experience in residential, commercial, or custodial cleaning.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high quality work.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow established procedures.
• Physical ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks such as lifting, bending and navigating multiple floors.
• Professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude that aligns with Avana’s values of inclusivity, intentionality, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with Property Management and Operations teams.
• A Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle, as regular travel between Avana properties is required.
• A satisfactory driver's abstract and criminal record check upon hire.
