Transdev Canada is seeking dedicated and compassionate HandyDART Bus Drivers to join our Kamloops team.
As a HandyDART Bus Driver, you will provide essential transportation services for individuals with disabilities and mobility challenges, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity. Your role:
- Passenger Assistance: Safely and courteously assist passengers with boarding, securing mobility devices, and disembarking from the vehicle.
- Safe Operation: Operate HandyDART vehicles following all traffic regulations, company safety protocols, and accessible transportation standards.
- Route Adherence: Follow assigned routes and schedules, making stops at designated locations to ensure passengers' timely arrival at their destinations.
- Safety and Sensitivity: Provide a safe, respectful, and empathetic environment for passengers, addressing their specific needs and concerns.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or maintenance issues to the maintenance team.

Your profile:
- You have a valid Class 4 Unrestricted driver's license or equivalent.
- You have clean driving record.
- You have strong customer service skills and empathy for passengers with disabilities.
- You can operate accessible transportation equipment and secure mobility devices.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- You must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing and background checks.
- Prior experience in passenger transportation, especially with individuals with disabilities, is an asset.
Your location:
- This is a casual, unionized position in Kamloops, BC.
- HandyDART Drivers must be available for five days a week (assigned two consecutive days off).
- Early, split & late shifts may be required.
