Join the UFA team today!

At UFA, we are more than an agricultural cooperative. We are a team of passionate people who work together to support rural communities, Canadian producers, and each other every day.

We are currently seeking a Yard Shipper/Receiver to join our team at our Two Hills Farm Store.

Are you the kind of person who enjoys variety in your day and isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves wherever needed? This is a true "jack of all trades" position, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys contributing wherever support is needed.

Reporting to the Yard Manager, the Yard Shipper/Receiver plays a critical role in the day-to-day success of the Farm Store. In this hands-on role, you will receive and organize inventory, pick and prepare customer orders, load and unload shipments, operate equipment, assist customers, and support general yard and warehouse operations. No two days are the same.

Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service, teamwork, and operational excellence. Whether you're helping a customer find what they need, maintaining inventory accuracy, operating a forklift, or ensuring the yard remains organized and safe, you'll be a valued contributor to the overall customer experience and success of the location.

This position is based at UFA's Two Hills Farm Store and offers the opportunity to develop a broad range of skills across customer service, warehouse operations, inventory management, equipment operation, and logistics.

The Two Hills Farm Store operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This role is predominantly a Saturday position.

The successful candidate may be placed on any shift based on operational requirements, qualifications, and personal preference.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in all aspects of the shipping/receiving/inventory functions, accountable for accurate daily completion of all receiving, shipping, inventory control and administrative / IFS requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Perform maintenance on inventory or cycle counts, as directed.
  • Operate all materials handling equipment.
  • Assist in forklift and equipment maintenance.
  • Load and unload trucks, following UFA’s loading and unloading procedures to ensure products are safely secured.
  • Conduct location inventory in prescribed manner.
  • Maintain yard and warehouse appearance as assigned, and in compliance with UFA safety regulations and operational standards.
  • Responsible for “Own the Aisle” area of assigned responsibility in yard to ensure merchandising and inventory standards are consistently maintained.
  • Make deliveries when required.

Qualifications
  • A minimum 1 year of warehouse, yard, retail, agricultural, or related operational experience.
  • Forklift experience or certification is considered an asset.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new systems and technologies.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to support multiple operational functions and work various shift schedules.
  • Ability to maintain required certifications and training, including WHMIS, TDG, and other company-mandated programs.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence is required.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position. Successful candidates may be required to successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as a condition of employment.
