Full job description

About MeadowBrookMeadowBrook is a growing commercial and industrial construction company in Mississauga, Ontario, with operations across the Greater Toronto Area, Kitchener, and Oshawa. We provide end-to-end facility solutions spanning Design, Build, Maintain, and 24/7 Assistance, delivering construction, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and handyman services to commercial and industrial clients across Ontario. Built on a foundation of expertise, quality, and reliability, MeadowBrook partners with clients to conquer facility challenges from permit approvals and renovations to preventative maintenance and emergency response. As we continue to grow, our People & Culture team plays a central role in building the workforce that powers our mission. About the Role We are looking for a recruiter—specifically, not a generalist, not a coordinator, and not someone who treats recruitment as just one item on a longer list. This role is dedicated exclusively to full-cycle talent acquisition for construction and field-based roles. If you thrive on closing requisitions, filling pipelines, and hitting hiring targets, this is the position for you. You will own the end-to-end recruitment process for skilled trades, site supervisors, project coordinators, project managers, and multi-trade roles (HVAC, electrical, plumbing). You will be measured on speed, quality, and volume, and you will be expected to deliver. This role is for an existing vacancy. What You Will Be Responsible For Recruitment & Sourcing
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment from intake to offer for construction and multi-trade roles.
  • Build and maintain active pipelines of qualified candidates—ahead of demand, not behind it.
  • Identify and pursue candidates through creative, proactive approaches beyond standard job postings.
  • Keep requisitions moving; no role should sit idle.
Screening & Interviewing
  • Review resumes and conduct phone/video screening interviews.
  • Verify required certifications, licenses, and compliance requirements relevant to construction roles (e.g., Red Seal, WHMIS, Working at Heights, G-class license, driver’s abstracts).
  • Assess technical fit, certifications, and cultural alignment.
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and collect structured feedback.
  • Conduct reference checks and support offer preparation.
Hiring Manager Partnership
  • Conduct intake meetings to align on role requirements, timelines, and must-have qualifications.
  • Provide market intelligence on candidate availability, compensation benchmarks, and hiring challenges.
  • Set and manage expectations, including pushing back when timelines or requirements need adjustment.
Process & Administration
  • Maintain complete and accurate records across all active requisitions.
  • Track and report on key metrics: time-to-fill, source of hire, offer acceptance rate, and pipeline health.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment standards and fair hiring practices.
Candidate Experience & Employer Branding
  • Deliver timely, professional communication throughout the candidate journey (within 24–48 hours).
  • Represent MeadowBrook with professionalism in the construction talent market.
  • Support employer branding initiatives that strengthen our presence in the trades community.
Qualifications Required
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in full-cycle talent acquisition. Recruitment must be your primary function, not a shared one.
  • Direct experience recruiting within the construction, industrial, or skilled trades sector.
  • Working knowledge of construction roles, trade certifications, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record of filling roles on time and managing multiple requisitions without stalling.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and digital recruitment tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and able to operate with urgency.
Preferred
  • Familiarity with WSIB, ESA, and Ontario employment compliance in a construction context.
  • Experience recruiting multi-trade roles (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
Why MeadowBrook?
  • This is a recruitment role, full stop. No HR admin, no generalist duties, no distractions. You will spend your time doing what you do best: finding and closing candidates.
  • Your results will be visible. Roles filled, pipelines built, and hiring targets hit. Your contribution is direct and measurable.
  • Competitive base salary of $60,000 with a performance-based bonus of up to $7,500 per eligible hire. The more you place, the more you earn!
  • We are a growing company, which means real requisition volume and the opportunity to make a significant impact on the business.
  • Work with a leadership team that values speed, quality, and accountability while supporting you in delivering both.
  • Help shape how recruitment is done at MeadowBrook as we scale.
What Success Looks Like
  • Takes full ownership of requisitions and drives roles forward with urgency and accountability.
  • Maintains strong candidate pipelines while keeping hiring managers and candidates consistently informed.
  • Fills roles with the right people in a timely manner through a professional and positive hiring process.
  • Builds trust with hiring managers as a reliable recruitment partner and ensures a strong candidate experience.
  • Stays energized by recruitment progress and continuously thinks ahead to identify and attract top talent.
