Wireline Supervisor

Spectrum Wireline Services Ltd. is currently seeking applicants for E-Line Wireline Supervisor based out of our Red Deer AB location. Slickline experience is an additional asset that will give priority to an applicant. The successful candidates will provide and assist crew and management with duties in the field and shop. We do not offer any or perform any pump down services. We are a conventional, cased hole wireline company, working primarily in Alberta. Our company offers competitive wages with benefits and a 15/6 schedule. Key responsibilities include supervising crew and equipment at the well site and in the shop to provide specific logging and completion services, performing quality control of log data and service quality, communicating with customers to ensure satisfaction, as well as being responsible for safe operations for all individuals on the jobsite.

Pre-Hire testing includes :

• Successful completion of pre-employment screening (medical / audiogram / drug & alcohol)
• Submitting a clean driver's abstract
• References of previous experience

Key responsibilities and duties:

• Demonstrate professional attitude and provide customer with operational expertise
• Ensure wireline unit and shop are stocked with required tools and supplies
• Mentor and assist with wireline truck maintenance and shop equipment maintenance
• Understand pressure control equipment and theory
• Supervise / assist with rig in and out of pressure control equipment and tools as required
• Plan and execute operation of wireline unit (tools, logistics, crews, etc.)
• Complete field ticket invoices
• Supervise/assist with rig in and out of lubricator, and tools as required
• Supervise/assist with gun loading operations
• Ability to locate open/shorts in wireline tools and surface equipment
• Arm all explosive devices
• Ability to run GR/CCL/CBL/RBL/temperature logs
• Run junk basket and gauge ring
• Ability to set bridge plugs, cement retainers, packers
• Ability to perforate and understand shot densities and gun limitations
• Dump bail cement/sand
• Strong leadership role in the shop and field operations
• Ensure wireline unit and support vehicles are kept clean and in good operating condition
• Provide the customer with professional expertise and represent Spectrum in a positive manner
• Provide leadership, training and assist to those who are less experienced (mentorship)
• Review upcoming jobs/dispatches and deviate possible problems prior to departing shop facilities
• Perform all work in accordance with all provincial, federal legislation and industry standard or guidelines
• Comply with Spectrum HSE policies, Safe Work Practices (SWP) and Safe Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Complete a pre-job hazard assessment on every job. Discuss the results with all workers as part of your tailgate safety meeting which is also to be held on each job or job scope changes.
• Ensure you and your crew comply with Enserva's Perforating Code of Practice
• Work on a 24 hour on call basis, and travel/stay away during the duration of your shift of 15 days on duty

Job Type: Full-time

• Ensure proper job prep and pre-job checks are complete.
• Ensure all personnel are fit for duty with proper Alberta transportation records and maintenance of vehicles before travel.
• Assist in maintenance of wireline units and ensure documentation is complete.
• Perform additional duties within the district; Provide operational assistance, training and supervision to the crew as required.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience:

The successful candidate must possess:

Experience:

· 5 years of Wireline experience, with at least 3 years of running a truck

Qualifications / Certifications:

· Thorough understanding of and competency in oilfield wireline operations and services

· Extensive experience with Cased Hole services and product line training in Wireline

· Safety Certifications (H2S, First Aid) are required

· Clean 3Q license

· Strong operational and Maintenance knowledge of equipment

· Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision

· Willingness to learn, make continuous improvements, and grow within the company

· Ability to multi-task - can handle multiple projects and set priorities to meet deadlines.

· Ability to travel and work a 15 on and 6 Day off Rotation

· Ability to assist or work along side Sales Division

· Proficiency with Computer systems – Warrior Logging system (priority given to applicants proficient with warrior software), Lee Logging system, Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Chrome

· Background check is legally required for the successful candidate due to the possible handling of explosives/dangerous goods
