Job Title: Telecom Engineer/Designer - AB/NFLD

Our Calgary, AB and Mount Pearl, NFLD Offices are currently looking for several Telecom Engineers/Designers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Telecommunication Engineer / Designer shall Develop/prepare engineering deliverables such as Block Diagrams, Architecture Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Layouts, Details, Bill of Materials, Design Calculations, Load Calculations, Electrical Assessment, Scope of Work, Engineering Work Package, Site Visits, Field Evaluation, and other engineering deliverables as required.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

· At least 5 years of telecom engineering design experience on one or more of the following areas:

o Telecom Equipment Cabinets/Enclosures

o Cabinet/Enclosure Electrical Loads/Heat Dissipation Calculations

o Outside Plant/Inside Plant Fibre Optic Cabling

o CAT6/Structured Cabling

o Wi-Fi Network

o Point-to-Point Radio, Point-to-MultiPoint Radio

o Knowledge and past experience with Motorola P25 Trunked Radio systems is an advantage

o Telecom Towers

o Telecom Buildings

o Security Access Control System

o Surveillance Video Monitoring/CCTV

o Public Address and General Alarm

o Building Monitoring and Management System

o Offshore Oil&Gas design and site experience

· Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer/Licensee with the APEGA or PEGNL

· Effective verbal and written communications in English

· Effective technical abilities and aptitude

· Great attention to details

· Demonstrate ability to learn and apply new skills/concepts

· Excellent skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe

· Engineering design experience in an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) environment is an asset

· Experience leading / coordinating design individuals across multiple projects

· Ability to draft engineering drawings using AutoCAD or MicroStation is an asset

· Eligible to work in Canada
