Full job description

NeighborScape Inc., headquartered in the Greely/Manotick area, has been servicing residential and commercial clients since 2006 with a complete range of landscape design, construction and maintenance services.

We are seeking reliable, honest and hardworking Interlock Crew Lead Hand/Installers/Labourer to join our landscaping interlock construction division. As a team member within this division, you will work on landscaping and remodelling projects of a varying scale with concrete precast products as the main focus. Projects such as: patios, retaining walls, walkways, garden walls, pools, steps, pillars etc, are just a short list of services offered and completed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Construction of custom outdoor projects in interlocking stone.
  • Operate various tools and equipment including: heavy equipment (skidsteers, mini ex, dingo), chainsaws, quick cuts, jackhammers, laser levels, compactors, etc.
  • Driving of a F550 diesel landscape work vehicle to pick up and drop off materials.
  • Follow safe work practices and directions of the Interlock Foreman.
  • Ensure project quality and productivity on the job site from start to completion.
  • Comply with all company and regulatory policies.
  • Propose and implement solutions in areas in need of improvement.
  • Ensure customer service standards are upheld in all interactions with current and prospective clients.
  • Assist with preparation and clean up of all job sites.

Qualifications Required:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience with interlock installation of retaining walls, steps, patios, walkways, coping, etc.
  • A portfolio/pictures of previous work completed is an asset.
  • Experience in the safe use of handheld brick saws, table saws, packers and other landscaping equipment.
  • Experience in operating heavy machinery, including mini-ex and skid steer machines is an asset.
  • Experience driving landscape dump trucks (Ford F550) with 4 tons of equipment and/or aggregate is an asset.
  • Valid G driver’s license, with a clean record is required for all driving positions. Class AR license considered an asset. Employer will pay and organize for candidate to upgrade license certification if required.
  • Ability to get yourself to job sites for 7am Monday-Friday.
  • Experience in grading, sod installation, and other softscaping services is an asset.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good physical condition.
  • Strong communication and a sense of team work .
  • Ability to work under-pressure and use strong time management skills.

This is a seasonal full-time position (approx. August 2026 – December 2026). There is a possibility for extension through the winter with snow removal work. The position is Monday- Friday. 2-3 Saturday shifts may be required over the course of the season.

NeighborScape offers competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience, $25.00-$33.00 per hour. Performance bonuses are given to reward exceptional work.

Extended health/medical, dental and vision benefits available after the first 3 months for employment (Lead Hand Position).
