Web Programmer jobs in Alberta

ViiB Digital is looking for an experienced Website Designer & WordPress Developer to join our growing team on a contract basis.

This is not an entry-level position. MUST BE LOCAL TO EDMONTON.

We're looking for someone who can take a client's ideas, create an attractive and strategic website design, and then build it using WordPress. While we also build on Duda, WordPress experience is essential.

You'll work directly with our team and clients to create websites that not only look great but also generate leads and help businesses grow.

What You'll Do

• Design modern, conversion-focused websites
• Build responsive websites in WordPress
• Build websites in Duda (asset)
• Customize themes and layouts
• Work from written content, branding, and client meetings
• Collaborate with our marketing team
• Perform website updates and improvements
• Ensure websites are mobile-friendly and optimized
• Troubleshoot website issues when needed

Requirements

You should have:

• 3+ years building WordPress websites
• Strong understanding of responsive web design
• Excellent eye for layout, typography, spacing, and user experience
• Experience with page builders (Elementor, Bricks, Gutenberg or similar)
• HTML & CSS knowledge
• Basic understanding of PHP and WordPress troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable internet and home office setup

Assets (Nice to Have)

• Local SEO knowledge
• Keyword research experience
• Google Analytics or Search Console experience
• Basic graphic design
• Copywriting experience
• WooCommerce experience
• Experience with Duda websites

Schedule

• Contract position
• 20–30 hours per week
• Hybrid work environment
• Tuesdays are required in-office for our weekly team meeting.
• The remainder of the week can be worked remotely or from our office.
