Optometric Assistant Innisfail Eyecare Centre

Innisfail Eyecare Centre is seeking a dedicated and professional Optometric Assistant to join our practice.

Position Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. We are unable to accommodate exceptions to these hours.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience. This is an entry-level position for candidates without prior experience; training will be provided.

Position Overview

The Optometric Assistant will play an integral role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. Responsibilities include assisting with patient intake and pre-testing, supporting the optometrist during examinations, and providing guidance to patients on eyewear selection.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Emotional intelligence and maturity in patient and team interactions
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
  • Strong self-motivation and a proactive approach to work
  • Prior experience in optometry or a related healthcare field is considered an asset but is not required
  • Fluency in English
  • Reliable personal transportation to and from the workplace
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada; the organization is unable to provide sponsorship
