Full job description

Delivery Associate Responsibilities:

  • Reviews driver manifest detailing products for transportation
  • Communicates information to the warehouse dispatch
  • Inspects the vehicle's safety conditions daily, including tires, lights, brakes, steering, etc.
  • Maintains good housekeeping, including reports of any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions
  • Records mileage, cargo information, hours of service, and daily fuel consumption
  • Records accident and/or incident reports, trip reports, bills of lading
  • Operates GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
  • Maintains a high level of attention to detail
  • Exhibits professionalism and customer service skills
  • Delivers to regional and short-haul transportation routes, including schools, city sites, manufacturing, and Weber Supply transfer locations
  • Exhibits effective interpersonal skills, including flexibility, cooperation as a team, oral & written communication, reliability, organization
  • Observes safety regulations i.e., packing, picking, loading, and unloading trucks, etc.
  • Communicates daily progress to Warehouse Managers/Executive Management team
  • Work with the team in shipping to expedite rush orders and provide delivery information to customers
  • Exhibits professionalism and customer service skills
  • Exhibits effective interpersonal skills, including flexibility, cooperation as a team, oral & written communication, reliability, and organization
  • Perform all reasonable directions given to you by the Company, including but not limited to all warehouse duties, deliveries, and any other requirement requested of you, from time to time, in support of the branch operations.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma / GED
  • Experience driving 5-ton trucks and commercial vans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with warehouse and distribution operations
  • WHMIS and Safe Lifting knowledge are preferred
  • Valid Class 5 License (Saskatchewan)
  • Clean Driver's Abstract

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Regularly lift/move objects that range from 10-55 lbs
  • Count, organize, wrap, and load goods onto the vehicle
  • Frequently sitting, standing, walking, crouching, bending, and frequently climbing, carrying, pushing, and pulling of skids via a pump truck and products via a dolly
  • Capable of learning new skills and transferring that knowledge immediately and accurately

Equipment:

  • Will involve travel to customer sites or distribution centers
  • Cellular phone provided for all routes
  • Steel-toed safety shoes or boots are required
  • Hard hats, safety glasses/goggles, and safety vests provided as needed
