Pilot Car / Escort Driver (Full-Time)

JNB Heavy Haul

JNB Heavy Haulis hiring a full-time Pilot Car / Escort Driverto support the safe movement of over-dimensional loads across Canada and cross-border into the U.S.

This position is best suited for individuals who are reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable spending extended time on the road.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a company-issued pilot vehicle with required safety equipment (lights, flags, signage)
  • Escort heavy haul trucks in lead and/or chase positions
  • Maintain constant communication with drivers using 2-way radio
  • Identify and communicate hazards such as low clearances, construction zones, narrow roads, and traffic issues
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and securement of freight as required
  • Work closely with truck drivers and other team members in a team-oriented environment

Mandatory Requirements (Please Apply Only If You Meet All):

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Valid Class G license or higher
  • Eligible to cross the Canada/U.S. border (no restrictions)
  • Able to pass a drug test
  • Willing to be away from home for extended periods
  • Strong situational awareness and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible, irregular hours (including early mornings, evenings, and weekends)
  • Physically capable of assisting with securement and job site tasks

Assets (Not Required):

  • Previous pilot car / escort experience
  • Trucking or heavy haul industry experience
  • Knowledge of oversized load regulations
