Full job description

VAC Developments is a Canadian Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Company located in Oakville. We are seeking a Toolroom Technician/Tool setter to join our Team!

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains/grind cutting tools for CNC Department.
  • Sets up CNC Machining holders with appropriate equipment.
  • Prepare tooling kits for production runs so they are ready per the production schedule.
  • Issues tools and equipment and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned.
  • Work with Purchasing to order out of stock tools and parts and ensure safety stock is in place.
  • Pre-set tool lengths in preparation for scheduled production runs.
  • Regrind and shape end mills and drills as necessary to ensure they are properly sharpened and calibrated for use.
  • Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate from college or technical school; or 2+ years related experience
  • Previous CNC Mill and/or Lathe experience with an understanding of the various types of machine tools

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Oakville, ON L6H 5S3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • tool room: 2 years (preferred)
  • cnc tools: 2 years (preferred)
  • with CNC machines Mill/Lathe: 2 years (preferred)

Work Location: In person
