Managing Director (Integrator Role)

Terms:

Permanent / Full-Time

Salary:

$130K - $250K

Reports To:

Owner / CEO

About Bunkie Life:

Bunkie Life helps families unite, unwind, and unplug.

We design and manufacture beautiful, easy-to-build bunkies that create meaningful space for connection.

You may have seen us on Dragon’s Den, HGTV, or House & Home Magazine.

We’re growing fast — and so we’re looking for a Managing Director (aka Integrator in EOS terms) to help scale from ~$15M to $50M+ while keeping our values and culture strong.

Core Values:

  • All In
  • Authentic & Real
  • Permission to Play
  • Go Getter
  • Humble

Position Overview: You’ll be the person who runs the business day-to-day — leading our leadership team, building systems, and turning vision into execution.

Your Focus:

• Lead and coach department heads (Factory Production, Operations, Finance, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales)

  • Run L10 meetings and create clear priorities and scorecards
  • Solve cross-department challenges quickly and calmly
  • Build scalable systems for sustainable growth
  • Keep everyone on the same page and accountable to results

Reporting directly to ownership, the Managing Director (Integrator Role) will be deeply involved in both high-level strategy and day-to-day execution. You’ll lead with a hands-on approach—rolling up your sleeves to improve processes, strengthen teams, and implement scalable systems that support sustainable growth across North America.

The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with a proven track record in business transformation, operational excellence, and strategic execution. You have a history of leading teams through growth and change, building alignment between vision and execution, and ensuring that operational performance supports long-term business goals.

Who You Are

  • You’ve helped a company grow from ~$15M to $50M+
  • You’ve led senior teams and driven results through accountability
  • You’re structured, calm, and great at solving complex problems
  • You thrive in entrepreneurial environments

You’re a values-driven leader who brings authenticity, humility, and a strong sense of purpose to everything you do. You naturally embody Bunkie Life’s core values—approaching challenges with curiosity, optimism, and a bias for action.

You’re both strategic and hands-on: equally comfortable setting direction and rolling up your sleeves to make progress with your team. You thrive in a fast-paced, remote-first environment where communication, trust, and initiative are key. You’re proactive, resourceful, and always looking for ways to simplify, improve, and scale.

You believe that great leadership means empowering others, building trust, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. You value clear communication, enjoy developing people and processes, and know how to balance big-picture strategy with operational excellence.

Most importantly, you care deeply about your work and the people you work with. You’re energized by growth, motivated by impact, and excited about helping scale a purpose-driven company that’s changing how families connect.

If you screamed "Heck yes!" to the above, we'd love to hear from you. Get a feel for what we're about by checking us out on our website and social media channels and make sure you watch our pitch on Dragon's Den (www.bunkielife.com/ddpitch).

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Growth

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic plans that drive sustainable growth and operational excellence.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, partnerships, and service innovations across North America.
  • Ensure alignment and integration across departments to maximize efficiency, collaboration, and competitiveness.
  • Develop and oversee annual operating plans, budgets, and performance targets that align with company goals and long-term vision.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and community stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with ownership and leadership teams on communications, reporting, and strategic initiatives that strengthen reputation and alignment.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across all divisions— manufacturing, sales & marketing, logistics, finance, HR, and customer experience—ensuring quality, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Implement and refine standardized operating procedures, KPIs, and performance frameworks to measure success and accountability.
  • Champion process improvement, digital transformation, and technology adoption to enhance scalability and data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor project and production delivery to ensure on-time, on-budget performance with exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance across all operations.

People & Culture Leadership

  • Foster a high-performance, values-driven culture built on accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop strong leaders and teams, supporting professional growth and succession planning.
  • Promote open communication, teamwork, and shared ownership of results across all departments.
  • Partner with HR to build talent development programs, performance management systems, and leadership pipelines.

Financial & Risk Management

  • Oversee financial performance, budgets, and cost structures to ensure profitability and long-term sustainability.
  • Partner with the Director of Finance to analyze operational performance and drive informed, data-backed decision-making.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, contractual, and market risks while ensuring compliance with governance and industry standards.
  • Support capital allocation and investment decisions that align with strategic priorities and growth initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a senior operations or executive leader (COO, Executive VP, President/GM, Managing Director or Integrator) with a track record of driving growth and organizational transformation.
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive leadership experience, ideally overseeing multi-division or cross-border operations.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling operations to $50M+, managing cross-functional teams, and leading through change.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to align operations, finance, and people with overall business goals.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, P&L management, and capital investment decisions.
  • Skilled in process improvement, systems implementation, and performance measurement to drive operational efficiency and accountability.
  • Strong understanding of business development, client experience, and partnership management.
  • Experienced in people leadership, including recruitment, workforce development, and performance management.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a collaborative and hands-on leadership style.
  • Proven ability to quickly understand technical or production environments and build credibility with frontline teams.
  • Experience / history of working with a company that operates on EOS is an asset
  • Knowledge of contract law, compliance, and risk management, including experience working alongside legal or regulatory partners considered an asset.
  • Experience working in or with U.S. operations (e.g., sales tax, compliance, or governance) is considered an asset.

Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary + performance-based incentives
  • A flexible work schedule with the opportunity to work from home
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Opportunity to work with a fun, growing company that values family and meaningful connections
