Senior Linux / Unix Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Montreal, QC, Canada
Work Model: Hybrid (50% Remote / 50% Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term Contract (12+ Months)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux / Unix Infrastructure Engineer to join a global Agile team supporting a large-scale enterprise environment of over 2,500+ servers. This is an exciting long-term contract opportunity for an infrastructure professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys driving automation, reliability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced Linux/Unix operational support and infrastructure project delivery.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions using Python, Bash, Ansible, Puppet, and APIs.
  • Participate in Follow-the-Sun support across Europe and Asia.
  • Manage incidents, changes, and requests in accordance with ITIL best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on enterprise-wide automation initiatives.
  • Support high-availability, mission-critical infrastructure environments.
  • Perform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Contribute to infrastructure architecture, modernization, and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Skills

✔ Expert-level experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
✔ Strong Python, Bash, Ansible & Puppet scripting and automation skills
✔ Experience with API integrations and infrastructure tooling
✔ Monitoring & Observability (Prometheus, Zabbix, etc.)
✔ TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SMTP, NFS troubleshooting
✔ Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) and LDAP integration
✔ SAN, Fibre Channel, LVM, Multipathing, XFS/ext4
✔ Backup, Disaster Recovery & Vulnerability Management
✔ Enterprise Hardware (Dell/HP Servers)
✔ Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & Production Support Experience
✔ Agile/Scrum Environment Experience
✔ Bilingual communication skills required
