Treasury Professional

Annual salary: $ 109,700.00 - 138,700.00

What you'll do

Reporting to the Assistant Treasurer, the Treasury Professional plays a key role in managing BC Hydro’s liability, cash, and
banking management portfolio. This role supports the integrity, efficiency, and risk management of critical treasury
operations- particularly non-standard payment processes and banking functions. You will collaborate across business
groups and with external parties to ensure robust, compliant, and forward-looking treasury processes.

Banking & Payment Operations:

  • Manage and oversee key treasury payment processes, including wire transfers and banking information changes.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor standards, policies, and procedures for banking and payment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and banking rules.
  • Maintain documentation to meet legal and regulatory standards.

Banking Strategy & Relationship Management:

  • Formulate and communicate banking strategies aligned with BC Hydro’s goals.
  • Negotiate and manage banking arrangements to meet business needs and optimize service quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal partners and external parties.

Project Leadership & Strategic Support:

  • Lead and manage banking-related projects.
  • Prepare and present recommendations on banking strategy, projects, and operational changes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support and influence decisions related to banking, payments, and liability management.

Cash & Liability Management:

  • Provide corporate treasury services in areas such as banking, cash management, liability management, and risk
management.
  • Prepare, support and manage cash and liability forecasting and reporting.
  • Prepare and respond to reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current on market trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
  • Identify opportunities for process and control improvements.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • CFA or CPA designation, or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certification is preferred.

  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in treasury operations, banking, and/or corporate finance.

  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

What else you should know

  • Please note this is a full-time permanent (FTR) opportunity located at our Dunsmuir location in Vancouver, BC.

  • Please note this role is classified as a Hybrid role under the flexible work model, which currently includes a mix of working
from home and working in the office. At present, this role is expected to work in the office a minimum of two days per week
however at times it could be more frequent due to operational requirements and does require flexibility.

  • As part of the selection process, applicants may be required to complete a written test/ assessment and/or a presentation
as part of the interview process.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of banking and payments best practices, controls, systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven track record of identifying process improvements.
  • Experience with strategic financial planning and financial forecasting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling and analysis.
  • High proficiency in MS Office; Bloomberg and treasury systems experience is an asset.
  • Experience developing, implementing and maintaining risk management policies and procedures and governance
frameworks.
  • Knowledge of financial products and instruments, including banking/payment related, debt instruments and derivatives
(including market-to-market).
  • Experience in managing corporate banking relationships, processes and transactions.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to work independently and collaborate effectively, and demonstrates strong
initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in work product.
