Full job description

Why We’re Here

At TRUE Consulting, relationships are at the heart of everything we do – TRUE, genuine relationships built on honesty, trust, and mutual success. We believe that when you genuinely care about the people you work with, engineering excellence follows naturally. That’s why we focus on building long-term partnerships, not just one-off projects. Our commitment to clients goes beyond contracts; our work speaks for itself, with satisfied clients returning time and again and sharing their experiences with others.

For our team, we create a supportive, inspiring, and inclusive environment that values people over profits. With low turnover and a strong sense of community, we invest in our employees’ well-being and success, empowering them to achieve remarkable things.

How We Do It Differently

Exceptional engineering starts with exceptional service. At TRUE, responsive customer service is our Brand Promise. Thanks to our low staff turnover, our clients work consistently with a dedicated team of experienced experts who understand their unique needs and goals. This continuity enables us to deliver practical, common-sense solutions that tackle real challenges without unnecessary complexity. We believe meaningful relationships drive the best results; by staying closely connected to our clients, we exceed expectations and foster lasting trust.

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Professional Transportation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design and planning for various transportation projects, including roadways, intersections, and active transportation networks. You’ll be part of a close-knit group of experienced personnel, including specialist engineers, client managers, and project managers, all dedicated to ensuring your success. At TRUE, you’ll find the best of both worlds: we’re large enough to offer expert services across all aspects of municipal engineering, yet small enough to maintain a family-like environment where everyone’s contributions are valued.

As a member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on impactful projects and apply your expertise in practical, client-centered ways. We’re seeking a candidate who values what we do, how we do it, and most importantly, why we do it. The successful candidate will understand the importance of our culture and be ready to grow within an organization that prioritizes people and relationships.

What We’re Looking For

  • Commitment to Company Culture: Alignment with TRUE’s core values of honesty, trust, and long-term client success, with an appreciation for a workplace that values people above all else.
  • Client-Focused: A genuine commitment to understanding and addressing clients' unique transportation needs, with an emphasis on building long-term, trust-based relationships.
  • Team-Oriented Mindset: Strong collaboration skills, valuing teamwork, and a dedication to contributing to a positive, family-like work environment.
  • Mentorship Skills: Enthusiasm for mentoring junior staff, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment that encourages professional development.
  • Transportation Engineering Expertise: Proven experience in transportation engineering, with knowledge of roadway and intersection design, traffic flow analysis, and active transportation infrastructure.
  • Adaptable and Solutions-Driven: Resourceful and adaptable, with a focus on practical solutions that effectively meet client needs and project goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transportation Design and Planning: Develop and oversee detailed design of transportation projects, including roadway, intersection, and traffic improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
  • Technical Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and review technical reports, traffic studies, proposals, and other documentation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff, supporting their professional development and encouraging knowledge-sharing.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with project teams, including Engineers, EITs, technologists, and other professionals, to achieve project goals.

Salary

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000 – $150,000, depending on experience.
