This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of the store: you'll champion outstanding customer service, keep our cash operations running smoothly, and bring our in-store events and public lecture program to life.
What You'll Do
Cash & Till Operations
- Lead and train your team to execute flawless till operations every shift
- Maintain rigorous adherence to cash handling policies, deposits, and financial reporting
- Serve as the ultimate authority on till transactions, returns, and Customer Service desk standards
Customer Experience
- Set the tone for every customer interaction — from warm first hellos to confident last impressions
- Equip your team to handle concerns with empathy, speed, and professionalism
- Champion a culture of genuine, community-minded service that reflects our brand values
Events Coordination
- Own the planning, marketing, and registration for in-store events and public lectures
- Partner with our Marketing and Purchasing teams to deliver seamless event setups and teardowns
- Help create memorable experiences that strengthen Community Natural Foods' ties to the Calgary community
People Leadership
- Recruit, onboard, and develop top talent for the Cash department
- Build a cohesive, motivated team through consistent feedback, coaching, and clear expectations
- Manage scheduling, HR administration, and performance across your department
- Hold your team accountable while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of management experience in grocery retail or a closely related industry
- 3–5 years of hands-on cash handling experience
- A genuine passion for natural foods and wellness, with solid industry product knowledge
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop front-line teams
- Strong organizational skills and a self-starter mindset — you don't wait to be told twice
- Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills; you're a natural communicator
- Experience in hiring, onboarding, and performance management
- A customer-first philosophy backed by real experience in service-focused environments
- Solid computer literacy for scheduling, reporting, and communications
