This Position reports to:

Directeur Ingénierie mécanique


Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical solutions for excitation systems—from proposal to manufacturing, testing, and installation—ensuring they meet customer requirements.
  • Support Sales by reviewing specifications, safety standards, and technical requirements, and by preparing cost estimates and proposal deliverables.
  • Execute mechanical deliverables for excitation projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct site audits to gather installation data, validate customer information, and identify design and integration constraints.
  • Design and integrate solutions for structural support, thermal management, piping, vibration/seismic requirements, and magnetic interference mitigation.
  • Convert electrical design inputs into cabinet layouts, mechanical assemblies, and installation drawings based on site conditions.
  • Select mechanical components per standards and specifications, and prepare detailed manufacturing drawings and complete documentation packages.
  • Provide technical support to Production, Purchasing, and Testing, while contributing to product standardization and continuous improvement of drawing practices and engineering processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with current OIQ membership (or in progress), and a valid passport for occasional travel to customer sites.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a mechanical design role, preference working with electro-mechanical cabinets, sheet metal and structure suppliers.
  • Experience with heat exchangers and heat management/ventilation, seismic, transport, lifting, fasteners, welding applications would be an asset.
  • A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following workplace safety guidelines.
  • A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and a desire to learn about new technologies.
  • A collaborative approach to working within a multi-discipline team, detail-focused, demonstrating strong communication and autonomous, leadership skills.
  • English and French spoken and written. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
  • Knowledge of electrical components, sheet metal fabrication, and cabinet standards (NEMA, NFPA 70) a plus.
  • Tools: Solid Edge, Creo 2D/3D, AutoCAD 2D, SAP, MS Office, Sharepoint.
