Location: Trenton, Ontario
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Contract
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Wage: $25.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience
Contract: Minimum 2-year commitment
Start Date: End of September 2026

About JcoM Communications Inc.

JcoM Communications Inc. is a growing low-voltage communications contractor specializing in structured cabling, fibre optics, wireless networks, CCTV, VOIP, and other communications infrastructure.

We are currently looking for an experienced Low Voltage Technician to join our team in Trenton, Ontario for a long-term project.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician looking for stable, full-time work with a minimum two-year contract, competitive wages, benefits, and the opportunity to travel across Canada.

Travel Requirements

This position will require regular travel throughout Canada.

Travel assignments will typically require the successful candidate to be away from home for approximately 4–12 weeks at a time.

JcoM Communications Inc. will cover all travel-related costs, including:

  • Airfare or other transportation
  • Hotel accommodations
  • Travel to and from the job site
  • Meals and applicable travel expenses

Candidates must be comfortable with extended travel assignments and being away from home for 4–12 weeks at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, label, and test copper structured cabling.
  • Install and terminate fibre optic cabling.
  • Install cable tray, J-hooks, conduit, and other cable support systems.
  • Install wireless access points, CCTV equipment, network cabinets, and other low-voltage systems.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, floor plans, and specifications.
  • Test and troubleshoot cabling and communications systems.
  • Build, organize, and dress network cabinets.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Work safely and follow all site-specific health and safety requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with site supervisors, customers, and project management.
  • Work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Travel to various job sites across Canada as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in structured cabling or low-voltage communications.
  • Strong understanding of commercial low-voltage installations.
  • Experience with copper and fibre optic cabling is an asset.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various construction environments.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional.
  • Comfortable with extended travel across Canada.

Requirements

  • Valid Level 2 Secret Security Clearance – Mandatory
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Must have reliable personal transportation
  • Must be willing and able to travel across Canada for 4–12 weeks at a time
  • Ability to commit to a minimum 2-year contract
  • Working at Heights Certification
  • WHMIS Certification
  • Worker Health & Safety Awareness in 4 Steps

JcoM Communications Inc. provides the tools required for this position.

You are not required to supply your own specialized tools.

Important Information

This position requires a current Level 2 Secret Security Clearance. Applicants who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be considered for this position.

The successful candidate must have reliable transportation and be comfortable with extended travel assignments throughout Canada. Travel will typically involve assignments of 4–12 weeks at a time.

All approved travel-related expenses will be covered by JcoM Communications Inc.
