'Summary'
As a Graphic Designer / Print Production, you'll be the creative force behind our visual communications, responsible for producing high-quality designs that exceed customer expectations. This role combines creative talent with technical expertise to deliver exceptional results across various applications, with a special focus on vehicle wraps and large-format graphics

'Responsibilities'
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Design & Production

• Create original artwork and designs while adapting to client's existing brand assets
• Design, size, panel, and set up vehicle wraps for production
• Develop mechanical files from creative layouts for both print and digital production
• Execute photo retouching, image editing, and color management
• Maintain meticulous attention to typography and element placement
• Ensure brand consistency across color, font usage, and production quality
• Organize and maintain archives of all design files

Client Interaction

• Collaborate with customers to develop design concepts and renderings
• Follow client design direction and implement feedback effectively
• Guide clients through the proofing process from concept to final production
• Communicate directly with customers and sales team throughout the design journey

Technical Expertise

• Set up production files with precision and accuracy
• Transform and enhance client designs and artwork as needed
• Operate, clean and maintain wide format printers, laminators and plotters
• Research and select appropriate stock photos and art
• Ensure proper file setup for printing, finishing, and installation
• Apply knowledge of Pantone, CMYK & RGB color conversions

Business Growth

• Stay current on market trends and expand program knowledge
• Help identify innovative approaches and new market opportunities
• Participate in sales processes and customer inquiries
• Support department growth initiatives

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Comfort working at heights (ladders, scaffolding)
• Ability to read ruler measurements with precision
• Capability to operate various machinery, from simple to complex

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma required
• Certificate Program or associate’s degree in design or related field preferred
• 3-5 years of Graphic Design experience
• Vehicle graphics design experience a plus
• Large format printing experience a plus
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong PC skills
• Excellent knowledge of Google Docs and Smart Sheets
• Understanding of corporate branding principles
• Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
• Skill in meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple projects
• Team-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License with good driving record
• Ability to pass a post-offer background check

Additional Information

This position may occasionally assist with decal pre-production and production as needed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on additional duties as requested by management.

• Red Deer, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

• Graphic design within a sign shop: 3 years (preferred)
