About Toronto Metropolitan

For more than 75 years, Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson University) has been shaping the next generation of leaders through its uniquely innovative, entrepreneurial, and career-focused approach to higher education. Driven by bold leadership, cutting-edge research and a deep commitment to academic excellence, TMU collaborates with students, faculties, staff and partners to push boundaries, reimagine solutions and create meaningful change in an increasingly interconnected world. For a more in-depth understanding of our vision, core values and ongoing work, please see our academic plan.

TMU welcomes those who have demonstrated a commitment to upholding the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion and will assist us in realizing the benefits of embedding these values into the work at every level and in every unit of the university. In addition, to correct the conditions of disadvantage in employment in Canada and to bring lived experiences to the work, we encourage applications from members of equity deserving groups that have been historically disadvantaged and marginalized, including First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples in Canada, First Nations Peoples in the United States, racialized people, Black people, persons with disabilities, women, and 2SLGBTQ+ people.

Preference will be given to candidates with lived experiences as people from equity deserving groups, as well as experience working with these communities with which the University works every day. Please note that all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply and we welcome newcomers and immigrants to Canada. In April 2022, the university announced its new name of Toronto Metropolitan University. Learn more about our next chapter.

The team

The Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University (TRSM) is developing collaborative, creative leaders who will drive 21st century business forward while making a positive impact on society. Home to 13,000+ students and more than 250 industry-connected faculty, TRSM is Canada's leading diverse, entrepreneurial business school-centred in an urban learning environment. TRSM offers three Bachelor of Commerce degrees, one Bachelor of Health Administration degree, the Ted Rogers MBA, a Professional Masters Diploma in Accounting, Executive Education courses, a Masters of Science in Management, a Master of Health Administration in Community Care, and a PhD in Management. TRSM is also home to 18 innovative research centres, institutes, and labs.

This is a particularly great time to join the Graduate Programs team. Ted Rogers School of Management is expanding its graduate portfolio, with new programs launching in 2027, and this role will have an opportunity to help build awareness and attract the first cohorts of students to these programs. You'll have a mix of student advising, recruitment, events, presentations, communications and project work, with plenty of opportunity to collaborate across the School and University. It's a role for someone who enjoys being out front, building relationships and helping turn prospective students into future Ted Rogers students.

The Opportunity

As a Graduate Recruitment Advisor, you’ll play an important role in attracting and supporting the next generation of graduate students at the Ted Rogers School of Management. You’ll be a key point of contact for prospective students, helping them navigate the admissions process while showcasing the opportunities available through our graduate programs.

You will:

  • Connect with prospective students on a 1-on-1 basis by providing personalized advising and follow-up emails, answering questions about programs and admissions, and helping candidates understand their options at Ted Rogers.
  • Support the recruitment of outstanding graduate students through events, presentations, information sessions and other recruitment activities, both virtually and in person.
  • Bring our programs to life by delivering engaging presentations and representing Ted Rogers School of Management to prospective students, applicants and external partners.
  • Prepare and review candidate application packages using Content7, Kira Talent, and Google Suite for presentation to the Admissions Committee during bi-weekly meetings.
  • Coordinate and track candidate funding awards, maintaining accurate records of funding amounts and preparing funding letters for successful candidates.
  • Organize and maintain admissions and funding documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely processing.
  • Support admissions from application to decision, coordinating application processes, maintaining applicant records, supporting Admissions Committees and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
  • Develop and coordinate recruitment and admissions communications, helping prospective students receive the right information at the right time throughout their journey.
  • Help shape the student recruitment experience by identifying opportunities to improve processes, communications and services, and recommending practical solutions.
  • Use data and insights to inform recruitment, preparing reports, monitoring recruitment activity and keeping an eye on the competitive graduate education landscape.
  • Build relationships across the university and beyond, working with faculty, staff, students and external partners to support graduate recruitment initiatives.
  • Support scholarships and funding, including making recommendations and helping prospective students understand available opportunities.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the recruitment and admissions function, including events, meetings, communications, applicant information and other operational activities.
  • Take on special projects and initiatives that support the growth and success of the graduate programs.
