Location: Greater Toronto Area, ON (Hybrid)Department: People & CultureReports To: President / CEO

MTLI Group is looking for an ambitious People & Talent Manager to lead recruitment and human resources as we continue expanding across Canada and the United States.

This role is ideal for someone who loves recruiting, enjoys building high-performing teams, and wants to play a major role in scaling a rapidly growing industrial services company.

You won’t simply manage HR—you will help build the company.

What You’ll Do

Talent Acquisition

  • Own all recruiting activities across Canada and the USA.
  • Recruit Local Sales Managers, Regional Directors, Account Managers, Project Managers, Engineers, Estimators, Coordinators, Skilled Trades, and Corporate Staff.
  • Create and manage job postings across multiple hiring platforms.
  • Source passive candidates through LinkedIn and other recruiting channels.
  • Conduct phone screens and first-round interviews.
  • Coordinate interviews with department leaders.
  • Complete reference checks.
  • Prepare employment offers.
  • Build ongoing talent pipelines for future hiring needs.
  • Improve MTLI’s employer brand and candidate experience.

Human Resources

  • Manage employee onboarding and orientation.
  • Maintain employee files and HR documentation.
  • Coordinate benefits administration.
  • Assist with performance review processes.
  • Support employee engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Ensure HR policies remain current and compliant.
  • Coordinate employee offboarding.
  • Maintain HR systems and personnel records.

KPI Expectations

  • Fill open positions within established hiring timelines.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Improve 90-day new hire retention.
  • Maintain a high offer acceptance rate.
  • Reduce cost per hire.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding for every new employee.
  • Maintain organized and compliant employee documentation.
  • Support leadership with workforce planning and hiring strategy.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of recruiting, HR, or talent acquisition experience.
  • Experience recruiting sales professionals, construction personnel, industrial employees, or technical roles is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong interviewing and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Comfortable managing multiple openings simultaneously.
  • Experience using ATS and recruiting platforms such as Indeed and LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary: $75,000–$100,000, depending on experience.
  • Performance bonus tied to hiring goals and retention.

  • MTLI is a fast-growing company that hires across Canada and the USA. Are you comfortable working in a high-growth environment with aggressive hiring goals?
  • Are you comfortable leading and developing a team of recruiters while being accountable for hiring KPIS, retention, and overall recruiting performance?
  • Are you comfortable owning the full HR function, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR compliance, and leading MTLI through the achievement and maintenance of COR Certification and other relevant health, safety, and industry standards?
  • Do you have experience creating and managing structured onboarding programs, including employee handovers, introductions, and 30/60/90-day onboarding plans?
  • Are you comfortable coordinating cross-functional employee handovers, introducing new hires to key stakeholders, assigning required training, and ensuring all onboarding milestones are completed?

Experience:

  • Full cycle recruiting: 5 years (preferred)
  • Talent acquisition: 5 years (preferred)
  • Human resources management: 5 years (preferred)
