Technical Project Manager

Location: Greater Vancouver area candidates only


What You’ll Be Doing…

You'll experience learning the software with cutting-edge technology and have a chance to work with a dynamic and dedicated team committed to providing the highest level of customer service and managing projects for Fortune 500 clients. Suppose you're looking for a challenging opportunity with a high level of client interaction while learning a cutting-edge application. In that case, this is an opportunity for you to make an immediate business impact. You will manage medium to high-complexity software implementation projects while contributing to product development. You will facilitate gathering, validating, and managing requirements to understand and translate business needs into solutions. You will also play a key role in communication, setting expectations, and managing scope, quality, cost, and timeline.


This role is a key customer-facing position within the development team that includes:

Business Analysis:

  • Facilitate requirement gathering sessions using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis /process mapping.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver project artifacts such as functional requirements (business requirements document), use cases, screen and interface designs, data flow diagrams, workflow diagrams, training documents, etc.
  • Collaborate with developers to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability, performance, and scope.
  • Be the liaison between the business units/customers, technology teams, and support teams through which requirements flow.
  • Lead the verification and management of requirements throughout the project.
  • Assist with defining and continuously improving BA processes and interactions with other IT areas.
  • Make recommendations to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the business.

Project Management:

  • Direct and manage all project phases from inception to completion to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Assemble and coordinate project team members, assign individual responsibilities and follow-ups.
  • Monitor and control all project activities, issues, change requests, risks, and overall quality of deliverables.
  • Plan and oversee the preparation and dissemination of all project communications, including updates to the master project portfolio and calendar.
  • Communicate with project sponsors, senior management and functional area managers, and/or consultants regarding the status of specific projects through formal and informal verbal and written communication methods.
  • Manage multiple initiatives/projects simultaneously.

What You'll Bring to the Table...

  • 3 + years of project management experience, preferably in an IT Infrastructure or IT Security field.
  • Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
  • Ability to manage ten or more projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated Project Management (PM) competencies: budget and timeline management, scope management, risk management, timely decision making, effective team building, ability to prioritize and delegate appropriately and deal with changing priorities.
  • Strong technology understanding coupled with industry skills and a track record of understanding IT Security Technology (Networking, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Content Filtering, Strong Authentication, PCI-DSS Compliance, Penetration Testing) is an asset.

  • Salary: $65,000/year - $100,000/year (plus bonus eligibility)
