Position Overview

RIC Electronics is seeking a technically capable and customer-focused person to join our sales team. This role is responsible for reviewing customer specifications, sizing UPS and battery systems, verifying pricing, answering technical questions, and preparing a high volume of accurate quotations.

The successful candidate will work closely with customers and coordinate with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Service to ensure proposed systems meet technical, pricing, and delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review customer specifications, drawings, data sheets, and requests for quotation.
  • Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable UPS, battery charger, battery, and backup-power solutions.
  • Size battery banks based on load, voltage, required runtime, environmental conditions, and applicable design margins.
  • Calculate expected UPS runtime for different loads and battery configurations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely quotations, including equipment, options, accessories, and services.
  • Verify costs, pricing, and margins before quotations are issued.
  • Confirm pricing, lead times, and technical requirements with internal departments.
  • Answer customer questions regarding system sizing, runtime, capacity, operation, compatibility, and available options.
  • Identify missing or conflicting information and obtain clarification from customers.
  • Coordinate with Engineering when custom designs or additional technical review are required.
  • Review customer purchase orders against quotations and identify technical, pricing, or commercial discrepancies.
  • Follow up on quotations and support customers throughout the purchasing process.
  • Maintain accurate quotation, pricing, and customer records in the company’s ERP and CRM systems.
  • Support quotations for replacement systems, spare parts, commissioning, and field-service work.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, electronics, or a related technical field.
  • Relevant experience in technical sales, estimating, applications support, electrical design, or industrial equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications, schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical data sheets.
  • Comfortable performing voltage, current, power, battery-capacity, and runtime calculations.
  • Experience with UPS systems, batteries, battery chargers, power supplies, or industrial electrical equipment is a strong asset.
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to review costs, pricing, and margins accurately.
  • Highly organized and able to manage a large volume of quotations and competing deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable obtaining clarification when requirements are incomplete.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and ERP or CRM software.

Pay: $68,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
