Overview
TechConnect Corp. is Canada’s premier telecommunications services company. We are an energetic team, with a passion for professionalism, craftmanship and exceptional customer service.

We are seeking motivated and experienced Field Service Technicians for a contract-based roles. These roles require a results driven individual that displays integrity, lead by example character, and practices open and honest communication. The successful candidates will report to the Operations Manager and be accountable for providing telecommunications installation and repair services in a clean, safe, professional manner while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Duties

  • Perform installation of Wi-Fi Access Points, Digital Video Terminals, Cable Modems, Digital Phone Systems & other related coaxial/digital equipment and accessories
  • Operate and understand test equipment related to the maintenance of 2-way coaxial, telco and fibre systems, including field strength signal meters
  • Respond to and resolve customer issues which arise from the installation and operation of digital equipment such as Wi-Fi, internet modems and other IP based digital services
  • Perform safe, secure installations of equipment adhering to company standards, federal & provincial laws
  • Respond to customer reported service problems involving analog and digital services
  • Detect, diagnose and correct issues affecting the services of our customers in a safe and controlled manner
  • Complete and maintain accurate system records and support documentation for all work orders
  • Coordinate with Supervisory staff on trouble calls and general areas for concern
  • Adhere to TechConnect's safety standards

Qualifications

  • Proven experience or training in computer networking, Ethernet, and telecommunication systems.
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to handle hand tools efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
  • Relevant certifications or training in networking or telecommunications are a plus. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about technology and eager to develop their expertise in broadband services within a professional setting that values safety, quality work, and continuous learning.
  • Minimum 1-2 years customer facing, Telecommunications field-related experience
  • Proficiency with a Hiton DP3 signal meter is a strong asset.
  • Possess & maintain appropriate tools, drill and test equipment.
  • Possess & maintain a van, SUV or truck with a commercial ladder rack.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends - 8 am to 8 pm typical shifts, with a majority of Saturday and Sunday Workload.
  • Fall protection certification, as well as prior ladder safety training is an asset
  • Physically able to perform all aspects of the job, including but not limited to, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces safely, operating hand tools, lift minimum of 50lbs, climb or work in heights of 40’ or greater, & work in various Canadian weather conditions in all seasons
  • Candidates must have appropriate vision to be able to safely identify various colour schemes
  • Clean driving record & valid driver's license (candidates will be required to present driver's abstract)
  • Possess a positive and passionate personality, with the natural ability to communicate with TechConnect’s customers and staff
  • A mature approach to work by taking ownership and responsibility in high stress situations

Pay: $25.00-$50.00 per hour
