Who Are You?

Reporting to the general foreman you will work following given instructions to produce high quality painting results

What you will do:

• Estimate the quantity of material required by measuring surfaces or reviewing a work order
• Prepare the surface by cleaning, filling nail holes and cracks, and sanding rough spots to smooth the area for painting
• Use brushes, rollers or spray guns to apply liquid coatings such as paint,.
• Apply an undercoat primer or sealer before painting
• Use premixed paints, or by mixing colour and pigment with oil and thinning and drying additives, to match specified colours
• Using wire wheel to remove imperfections in the plate and weld.
• Apply finishes that are sponged, ragged and layered

Sound Familiar:

• Completion of Grade 10 (Preference will be given to high school graduates.)
• Experience in Industrial Painting is considered an asset
• Some Fabrication skill preferred
• Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
• Time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent safety record

Due to safety considerations and the physically demanding nature of the role, successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment medical evaluation upon hiring. Passing the Level 1 fitness test on your first attempt is a bona fide occupational requirement (BFOR).
