POSITION SUMMARY

DEC is seeking an Engineering Junior Manager to support engineering leadership and project execution activities across mission-critical data center projects. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to advance into a leadership position while remaining actively involved in project coordination, technical reviews, and multidisciplinary engineering activities.

The Engineering Junior Manager will work closely with Engineering Managers, Project Managers, Consultants, and Construction teams to support engineering execution, maintain design quality, and ensure project deliverables are completed on schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Engineering Coordination

  • Support planning, coordination, and execution of engineering activities across multiple projects.
  • Assist with engineering schedules, resource planning, and workload management.
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables between internal teams and external consultants.
  • Support multidisciplinary design reviews and technical coordination meetings.

Technical Support

  • Review drawings, specifications, technical documents, and engineering submissions.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues during design and construction phases.
  • Support constructability reviews and value engineering initiatives.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables align with project requirements and standards.

Project Support

  • Work closely with Project Management, Procurement, and Construction teams.
  • Monitor engineering progress and identify risks or potential delays.
  • Support procurement activities through technical reviews and vendor coordination.
  • Assist with commissioning and project closeout activities.

Team Development

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineering team members.
  • Promote engineering best practices and quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Participate in client, consultant, and project coordination meetings.
  • Maintain effective communication across project teams and stakeholders.
  • Support preparation of technical reports, presentations, and project documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 5–8 years of engineering experience.
  • Previous experience leading projects, coordinating teams, or mentoring junior staff.
  • Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Experience working within EPC or design-build environments is considered an asset.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong technical and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong attention to detail.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • EIT or P.Eng. eligibility preferred.
  • PMP designation considered an asset.
  • Experience with BIM, Revit, and engineering collaboration platforms is considered an asset.
