Senior Store Manager – Cannabis Retail

About Us

True North Cannabis Co. is Ontario’s largest independent cannabis retailer, committed to delivering high-quality, affordable products with integrity and compliance. Through our sister company, True North Vapes, we also operate retail locations specializing in nicotine and vape products.

About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Store Manager to oversee one or more retail locations across both cannabis and vape banners. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving performance, ensuring compliance, and developing high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day store operations, staffing, and scheduling

  • Lead, coach, and develop Store Managers, Keyholders, and Budtenders/Vape Associates

  • Ensure compliance with AGCO regulations, health & safety standards, and company policies

  • Manage sales performance, KPIs, labor, inventory, and store profitability

  • Execute visual merchandising and planograms

  • Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and team development

  • Maintain inventory control and loss prevention practices

  • Implement company programs, promotions, and local marketing initiatives (including social media)

  • Communicate daily goals, updates, and business priorities to staff

  • Resolve employee concerns, customer issues, and operational challenges

  • Monitor store performance, identify opportunities, and implement improvements

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and customer-focused environment

  • Step in to support coverage as needed to ensure operational continuity

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years leadership experience (retail preferred)

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience managing KPIs, labor, and team performance

  • CannSell certification (or able to obtain)

  • Valid driver’s license and flexible availability

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Comfortable standing, bending, and moving throughout shifts


Our operating hours are 7 days a week and may range from 8am to 11:30pm

Part-time hours range : 00- 30 hours per week

Full- time hours range : 30 – 44 hours per week
