Job Overview

O'Neill Auto Group is looking for an exceptional Service Manager to lead one of the region's busiest dealership service departments. This is an opportunity for a proven leader who thrives in a high-volume environment, enjoys solving problems, and knows how to build accountability while earning the respect of the team.

Our department is busy, fast-paced, and constantly evolving. You'll inherit a group of experienced technicians, advisors, and support staff who need a leader who is confident, fair, decisive, and willing to roll up their sleeves. If you've successfully led large service operations, improved performance, elevated customer satisfaction, and built winning cultures, we want to hear from you

Responsibilities

  • Lead all daily operations of a high-volume dealership service department.
  • Drive exceptional customer experiences while improving Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores and customer retention.
  • Coach, mentor, and hold accountable a large team of service advisors, technicians, apprentices, and support staff.
  • Develop a culture focused on teamwork, performance, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and improve key fixed operations metrics including gross profit, labour sales, productivity, efficiency, effective labour rate, technician utilization, and warranty performance.
  • Manage departmental budgets, expenses, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Work closely with Parts, Sales, and Executive Leadership to achieve dealership objectives.
  • Recruit, train, and retain top talent while building future leaders.
  • Create efficient processes that improve workflow, communication, and operational excellence.
  • Address challenges head-on while maintaining a positive, customer-first culture

Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of automotive service leadership experience.
  • Minimum 5 years managing a high-volume dealership service department.
  • Demonstrated success leading large teams.
  • Proven experience improving CSI scores and customer retention metrics.
  • Strong understanding of fixed operations performance indicators.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing departmental budgets and profitability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Passion for developing people and creating winning cultures.
  • A leader who isn't afraid to make difficult decisions, manage through change, and bring stability to a demanding operation.
