Job Summary:

Here at Viking-Cives we pride ourselves on providing only the highest quality and most innovative products to the Municipal, Provincial/State, and private contractor markets. Building truck equipment since 1960, we have experience producing a full line of snowplows, combination dump bodies, conventional dump bodies, material spreaders, de-icing material application equipment, as well as our industry disrupting Tow Plow. Viking-Cives is also a leading distributor of various hydraulic systems, dump bodies, and an assortment of related truck equipment. We represent many of the leading truck equipment manufacturers throughout North America and have the knowledge and experience to install even the most complicated snow and ice truck equipment packages. In Canada, our products are built and installed through our main plant in Mount Forest, Ontario, and through our factory stores in Calgary and Edmonton. In this role, the successful person will grow and thrive working within our fast-paced custom installation shop, working closely with staff, vendors, and customers to ensure organization and on time delivery of internal and external parts. The candidate will organize, track, and maintain inventory, complete shipping and receiving functions, and address incoming parts calls when needed.

Job Duties:

Unload, sort, and load material safely and productively

Administer, sort, store parts in stockroom

Work with vendors to keep vendor managed inventory levels correct

Research the availability and pricing of parts

Identify and search part numbers using computer tools

Determine need for parts internally and externally; identify shortages

Record all sales and/or customer transactions using company provided system

Advise on stock quantities

Ensure customers receive the correct parts in a timely manner

Provide guidance/assistance on specific part information to assist customer needs

Answer phone calls in a friendly and professional manner

Verify all orders are accounted for, filled, and delivered on time

Determine best method of shipment

Schedule shipments; prepare bills of lading and other shipping documents

Comply with Health and Safety and PPE requirements to ensure proper methods are being used and that quality, safety, environment standards are being met

Maintain a safe and clean work environment

Conduct inventory counts – cycle and annual

Lift upwards of 50lbs

Complete miscellaneous duties and admin tasks as required

Work overtime when required

Skills & Qualifications:

Forklift and related warehousing equipment experience

Attention to detail with accuracy of information and data

Ability to work effectively with others and communicate clearly (verbal and written)

Computer experience with word documents, spreadsheets, ERP software and MRP software

Overhead Crane Use

Class 5 Drivers License

Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical, and technical terms

Logistics/transportation experience

Strong customer service skills

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent, 3-5+ years industry experience preferred.

Experience in shipping/receiving departments, stocking, inventory, parts sales preferred

Class 5 Drivers License
