Speech-Language Pathologist – Early Intervention Services

Your Story Speech & Language Services is hiring a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team!

We are looking for an SLP who loves seeing growth through the eyes of a child and who loves what they do. You will work with children in direct therapy and in collaboration with support staff to make a difference directly with the child.

This position will serve Okotoks, De Winton, and South Calgary. The FTE for this position is flexible, estimated at 0.6 – 1.0 FTE and is dependent on registration, caseloads and candidate availability/preference. We strive to support a work-life balance that works for you with flexible scheduling and FTE allotments. This contract runs on an academic calendar year (September - June), starting at the beginning of September 2026. An independent means of transportation is required. Both travel time and mileage are paid!

What you’ll do:

  • Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication needs for preschool and kindergarten-aged children.
  • Provide assessment reports and regular documentation following therapy sessions.
  • Design and deliver individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s goals.
  • Provide 1:1 therapy through ECS services in preschools and childcare settings or through private services.
  • Monitor progress, adjust plans, and celebrate growth.
  • Collaborate with educators, caregivers, and other professionals.
  • Adhere to ACSLPA standards and guidelines.

What You Need:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Active registration and good standing with ACSLPA.
  • Current professional liability insurance.
  • Current criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
  • Current First Aid.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (travel within your workday is paid).
  • Experience working with children in school or private settings (preferred but not required).
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office.
  • A self-starter attitude, strong communication skills, strong organizational skills, a desire to work as part of a team, but being comfortable working independently, and with flexibility to meet the child where they’re at to best support their needs.

Why join our team?

· We value a strong work/life balance and include you in building your caseload and schedule. We want to build a position that works for you!

· We work independently, but as part of a larger team, having a strong support system behind you within Your Story.

Pay:

· Commensurate with experience, based on a salary grid. Starting rate of $48/hr for employees; contractor rates are higher. See which is the better fit for you!
