We are excited to be part of the Arc Programs Family Connection Center (FCC), an initiative by the BC government to improve the quality of life for children and youth (0-18) who have a wide variety of needs, goals, and diagnoses. Areas of practice include: articulation, AAC, literacy, fluency, social communication, and expressive and receptive language. Currently, we are looking to hire 1 SLP to join our team in a salaried or hourly position.

As part of our pediatric therapy model, we place a high value on working with families, not just the child seeking support. Using a parent coaching model, we integrate parents, families, caregivers, and support staff into therapy sessions and teach them the necessary skills to effect change outside of treatment sessions. Using this model, we empower parents and caregivers to be able to work with their child effectively to implement recommended therapy plans and achieve identified goals now and into the future. As a community provider, we deliver treatment in a variety of settings according to the needs of the family; sessions may occur in the family home, in the community, in the clinic, or via telehealth.

As a multi-disciplinary clinic, we value collaboration with other healthcare professionals. As part of the FCC program, you will have the chance to work closely with a team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, behavioural consultants, social workers, and school teams. There will be an opportunity to work with partnering organizations on cross-training initiatives and collaborative programming.

Our Kelowna clinic is conveniently located in the heart of the Okanagan Valley where the moderate, yet distinct seasons give the Okanagan the best climate in Canada: summers are perfect for lake swimming, hiking, mountain biking, and boating while winter brings great snow to the ski resorts and rarely dips below -5 at town elevation. Kelowna is also the perfect size, providing the conveniences of a city with short commutes.

Our team is a close-knit group who have a passion for developing excellent therapy services. We are looking for an SLP colleague who shares our desire for excellence and who will enjoy being part of a team that is actively seeking innovative ways to deliver therapy. If you’re interested in improving the quality of life for children, youth, and their families in the Kelowna community, this may be a great opportunity for you! We encourage both experienced therapists, who are open to exploring new ways to practice, and new graduates to apply.
