Full job description

As a metrology technician at Soucy, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring that every component meets the highest industry standards. Your role will involve performing dimensional inspections of parts, managing measuring instruments, maintaining technical documentation, and tracking non-conformities. You’ll also participate in continuous improvement initiatives, internal audits, and the professional development of production staff. Your expertise will be essential to maintaining and improving the quality of our products throughout the entire supply chain!

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Operate and program coordinate measuring machines (CMMs)
  • Inspect production parts against drawings and technical specifications
  • Prepare part acceptance documentation in accordance with customer requirements and internal standards
  • Design inspection jigs and draft associated operating instructions
  • Handle internal and external nonconformities
    • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Perform periodic calibration and verification of measuring instruments
  • Train production employees on the use and maintenance of measuring instruments

With the following skills and qualities, you will thrive in this role:
  • College diploma (DEC) in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Experience with CMM programming software (e.g., MCOSMOS, Calypso)
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidEdge, SolidWorks)
  • Proficiency with metrology tools and quality standards (ISO, ASME, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerances
