Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyperson Electrician / Solar Installer to join our dynamic team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing solar energy systems and electrical infrastructure on various projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical expertise, mechanical knowledge, and experience operating heavy equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to renewable energy initiatives while working in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain solar energy systems in accordance with industry standards and safety protocols
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging gear to facilitate installation processes
  • Use hand tools and power tools effectively for wiring, mounting panels, and other electrical tasks
  • Perform low voltage wiring and electrical connections for solar systems
  • Conduct welding and metal fabrication as needed for mounting structures or system components
  • Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Journeyperson Electrician with strong electrical knowledge
  • Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in operating heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and low voltage systems
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and rigging gear
  • Experience with solar installation processes including wiring, mounting, and system testing
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery including bucket trucks, cranes, and other construction equipment safely
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards related to renewable energy systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
