Full job description

Web Developer — 18-Month Contract (Maternity Leave Coverage) Danby Appliances | Marketing Department Guelph, ON · Hybrid (On-site Tuesday, Thursday, Friday | Remote Monday, Wednesday) $70,000–$75,000 CAD annually · Start date: September 29, 2026

Are you a Website developer with a designer's eye, someone who can take a business idea and carry it all the way from concept to a polished, live web experience? If you love owning the full journey (design → development → testing → launch) rather than waiting for someone to hand you a ticket, we'd love to meet you.

At Danby, our websites are where our brands come to life across our B2C, D2C, B2B, and rental channels. As our Web Developer, you'll be the person keeping them stable, fast, beautiful, and always moving forward, working shoulder-to-shoulder with our Marketing Manager and MIS team.

What you'll do

  • Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot multiple WordPress websites across Danby's brands and channels
  • Design and build new pages, landing pages, and digital experiences, from wireframe to go-live
  • Develop and customize using WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Apply SEO best practices and track performance to improve visibility, engagement, and conversion
  • Partner across Marketing, MIS, and other teams to carry projects across the finish line
  • Ensure a seamless experience through QA across desktop, tablet, and mobile

What you bring

  • 3–5 years of professional web development experience
  • Strong, hands-on WordPress expertise, plugins, integrations, and troubleshooting live sites
  • Solid front-end skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) with working knowledge of PHP
  • Demonstrated web design and UI/UX ability, backed by a portfolio of work you personally designed
  • A strong grasp of responsive design, usability, accessibility, and modern web principles
  • The confidence to take high-level direction and independently shape the outcome

Considered an asset WooCommerce or e-commerce experience · Figma · Google Analytics, Search Console & SEO tools · AODA/WCAG accessibility · APIs and third-party integrations · ERP/CRM/PIM platforms (NetSuite, Salesforce, Salsify) · managed WordPress hosting

Who thrives here You're collaborative, curious, and organized, equally comfortable in creative and technical conversations. You can explain a technical trade-off to a non-technical colleague, keep momentum going, and take pride in the details. If you like variety, ownership, and seeing your work go live, you'll feel right at home on our team.

A portfolio is strongly encouraged, we'd genuinely love to see the experiences you've designed and built.

Interested? If an 18-month opportunity to own and elevate web experiences across multiple brands excites you, apply directly through LinkedIn. We're looking forward to meeting you.

Danby is an equal opportunity employer committed to building an inclusive workplace. Accommodations are available upon request throughout the recruitment process.
