O'Hanlon Paving a proud member of The Fath Group of Companies, has been a key player in the Edmonton, road construction industry for over 65 years. We pride ourselves in the quality of our finished projects, our strong safety culture, and our opportunities for employee development. We are currently looking for an experienced Asphalt Raker to work seasonally in a full-time capacity, in various locations throughout Edmonton. The successful candidate must be able to align with the company's core values: Commitment, Attitude and Respect.

Responsibilities:

· Spread asphalt using efficient techniques and maintaining the required pace for the job

· Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour and use of hands and tools

· Maintain and clean job site, pick up tools and equipment in order to eliminate potential hazards

· Other duties as required

Qualifications:

· Minimum 2 years of experience in Asphalt Raking supporting the Paving Crews is required

· Minimum 1 years of labourer experience assisting crews and operating construction equipment is required

· Knowledge of the safe operation of associated tools and municipal road building industry is required

· Willingness and ability to perform strenuous physical work for prolonged periods of time and weekends often under pressure is required

· Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license or above with a clean drivers abstract

· High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to follow directions is required

· Ability to work in varying weather conditions is required

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with little supervision is highly desirable

· Valid safety certifications are required

Additional Information:

· This is a seasonal position and starts in spring of every year

· This position is eligible for over-time

· Some travel outside of Edmonton may be required

· Training will be provided for various activities

· We offer excellent wages and benefits eligibility after 3 months in which you may continue your benefits during the winter months (off season)

· Potential on call work during the winter months during snow removal and early spring sweeping season
