Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Mail Carrier to join our team. This role involves delivering mail and packages efficiently while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, possess strong communication skills, and have experience in delivery. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on safety, accuracy, and timely delivery.
Responsibilities
- Shuttle between different mail depots and pick-up/drop-off mail and packages
- Deliver mail, packages, and parcels to residential and commercial addresses within a fixed and designated route
- Sort and optimize the deliveries to maximize efficiency
- Ensure accurate sorting and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail
- Maintain proper documentation of deliveries and pickups, including the use of a portable data terminal ("PDT") to complete deliveries
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery status or issues
- Follow safety protocols during all handling and transportation activities
- Operate personal vehicle safely in compliance with traffic laws and company policies
Skills and Requirements
- Must submit to a criminal record check and fingerprinting
- Moving loads (50lb maximum) safely, including heavy lifting of packages and mail items
- Strong customer service skills to address inquiries and resolve issues professionally
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and interacting with customers
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record for safe vehicle operation
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adhere to delivery schedules
Pay: $25.00 per hour
