Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced tradesperson to join our team as a Laydown Yard Supervisor/Materials Manager. This role is suited for a highly experienced tradesperson who can provide technical expertise, leadership, and oversight of all laydown yard operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the laydown yard while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and productivity.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of sea cans, trucks, and other deliveries.
  • Coordinate material handling activities, ensuring materials are received, inspected, stored, and staged correctly.
  • Manage pick tickets and material requests to ensure timely and accurate delivery to crews.
  • Plan and supervise rigging and lifting activities, ensuring all lifts are performed safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure proper use, storage, and organization of dunnage, cribbing, rigging gear, and lifting accessories.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and material tracking within the yard.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to yard personnel on best practices for material handling and rigging.
  • Coordinate with project management, logistics, procurement, and construction teams to support project schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, site procedures, and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Ironworker or Journeyman Pipefitter certification OR aminimum 10 years of industrial construction/materials handling experience.

Extensive experience with:

  • Rigging and lifting operations
  • Material handling and laydown yard operations
  • Loading and unloading sea cans, trailers, and trucks
  • Pick ticket management and material distribution
  • Inventory control and material organization
  • Safe use of dunnage, cribbing, and lifting equipment
  • Previous supervisory or lead hand experience is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment while maintaining a high standard of safety.

We're Looking For

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with the experience to organize and supervise all aspects of laydown yard operations. They will bring a strong understanding of rigging, logistics, and material handling while ensuring materials are managed safely, efficiently, and accurately to support project execution.

Pay: $50.00-$70.00 per hour
