Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Gas Station Attendant to provide excellent customer service at our retail location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a clean and safe environment, assisting customers with their needs, and managing transactions efficiently. Bilingual skills and familiarity with retail sales or POS systems are a plus to enhance customer interactions and operational efficiency.

Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with fueling vehicles, ensuring safety protocols are followed
  • Operate POS systems for cash handling, processing payments accurately, including cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments
  • Maintain cleanliness of the station, including fuel pumps, store area, and restrooms
  • Restock merchandise and ensure shelves are organized and well-presented (merchandising)
  • Conduct product demos or upselling of convenience items to increase sales opportunities
  • Manage inventory levels and report shortages or issues promptly
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and offering assistance with store products or services
  • Follow phone etiquette when handling inquiries or customer requests over the phone
  • Handle basic math calculations for transactions and sales reports efficiently
  • Ensure safety standards are maintained at all times in accordance with company policies

Skills

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse customers
  • Bilingual abilities (French and English) are highly desirable to serve a broader customer base
  • Experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service roles preferred
  • Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain store presentation
  • Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
  • Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and sales documentation
  • Professional phone etiquette for handling inquiries courteously over the phone
  • Upselling skills to promote products and increase sales revenue
  • Multilingual capabilities to assist a diverse clientele effectively
