Full job description

Customer Service & Operations Coordinator

Rockwood Garage Doors Inc. | Milton, Ontario
Job type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., plus occasional Saturdays, 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., for showroom coverage.

Great service starts before a technician arrives.

It starts with a friendly voice, the right information and someone who makes sure we do what we say we’ll do.

At Rockwood Garage Doors, we’re looking for someone who gets real satisfaction from keeping things organized, helping people and seeing a job through. Someone who remembers the callback, catches the missing detail and makes the day run a little better for everyone around them.

Exceptional organization, attention to detail and strong customer service skills are essential to this position.

Get to know Rockwood

You’ll be joining a growing, family-owned business where we take pride in our work, care about our customers and support each other. Our team helped create our mission, vision and values, and those principles guide how we work and how we treat people.

As we grow, our vision is clear: to be a trusted leader in our industry through safe, reliable solutions, skilled teams, strong operations and sustainable growth. This role helps make that vision happen every day.

We celebrate wins, talk honestly about what we can improve and work together to get better. You’ll work closely with owners, managers and technicians, and we welcome practical ideas that help the team do its best work.

You’ll help keep Rockwood moving

Your focus will be our commercial division, supporting overhead door and loading dock service, repairs, maintenance and installations. You’ll also lend a hand with residential work and general office operations.

A customer with a door that won’t open needs clear answers. A technician heading to a job needs complete information. A manager needs to know which quotes, approvals and invoices still need attention. You’ll help keep those details connected.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Answering calls and emails, asking the right questions and helping customers feel looked after.
  • Booking jobs and coordinating schedules with managers and technicians.
  • Preparing and sending quotes with guidance from our team, then following up on outstanding estimates and approvals.
  • Preparing accurate invoices and keeping customer details, job notes and purchase order information complete.
  • Keeping customers and coworkers informed when schedules or plans change.
  • Tracking open jobs, missing information and follow-ups so every task has a clear next step.
  • Helping managers with day-to-day administration and supporting other areas of the business when needed.
  • Providing occasional Saturday showroom coverage, welcoming visitors and assisting with customer inquiries.

Organization is your strength

Exceptional organization is the most important skill you’ll bring to this position.

You have a system for keeping track of tasks, deadlines and commitments. You check the details. You follow up without needing to be reminded. When priorities change, you can adjust while remembering the customer you promised to call back.

You understand that accurate information and consistent follow-through make everyone’s job easier and give customers confidence in us.

What being part of Team RGD looks like

Our values show up in everyday actions:

  • Determination: You stick with a task, work through challenges and take responsibility for getting it finished.
  • Skill & Craftsmanship: You take pride in the work that carries our name. That includes a carefully prepared quote, a clear job file and an accurate invoice. You’re willing to learn and improve.
  • Integrity & Honesty: You communicate clearly, ask when you’re unsure and speak up when something needs to be corrected.
  • Empathy & Respect: You listen, consider what someone else is dealing with and treat customers, coworkers and suppliers with care.
  • Trust: People can count on you to follow through, keep them informed and do what you said you would do.
  • Alignment: You share information, support your teammates and understand how your work contributes to the whole company.

Skills and experience

You’ll need:

  • Excellent organization, attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
  • Clear, professional communication by phone, email and in person.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and keep accurate records.
  • Confidence using email, calendars, spreadsheets and digital systems.
  • Initiative, sound judgment and a willingness to learn.

A background in customer service, office administration, scheduling, dispatch or service coordination would be valuable.

Industry knowledge is a significant asset, but it is not required. Familiarity with garage doors, commercial overhead doors, operators, loading dock equipment or a related trades business would be especially helpful. We also welcome people from other industries who bring strong organizational and customer service skills.

Experience with Jobber or similar job management software is an asset. We embrace technology and new ideas, so being comfortable learning new tools will help you here.

Bring your strengths to Rockwood
