About CMI / CFMOTO Canada

Founded in 2005, Canada Motor Importation (CMI) is a family-owned Canadian company and CFMOTO's exclusive distributor in Canada.

CFMOTO is a rapidly growing powersports brand in Canada, strengthening its position through innovative products, exceptional value, increasing market share, and a strong national dealer network. With a comprehensive lineup of ATVs, side-by-side vehicles, and motorcycles, CMI supports its dealer partners through dedicated sales, marketing, parts, accessories, and aftersales programs.

With an entrepreneurial culture and ambitious objectives, CMI continues to invest in its people, products, and dealer network to build on its success and strengthen its future

Role Objective

We are seeking a commercially driven District Sales Manager (DSM) to accelerate CFMOTO's growth throughout British Columbia.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, the District Sales Manager (DSM) is responsible for driving business growth through a hands-on, field-focused approach that balances developing new business opportunities with growing existing dealer partnerships. The successful candidate will identify market opportunities, expand the dealer network, strengthen dealer partnerships, and drive measurable improvements in retail sales, market share, and dealer productivity.

Reporting to the National Sales Director, this position requires an entrepreneurial mindset, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to build relationships while maintaining clear performance expectations and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Performance & Territory Development

  • Develop and execute territory sales strategies to achieve retail and wholesale objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase market share across ATV, side-by-side, and motorcycle segments.
  • Establish annual business plans with dealer principals, including sales, inventory, and PG&A objectives.
  • Monitor dealer performance, product mix, retail trends, and competitive activity.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement targeted action plans to improve results.

2. Dealer Network Development

  • Build trusted relationships with dealer principals and key decision-makers, positioning CFMOTO as a strategic partner in their long-term success.
  • Proactively identify underserved markets, recruit qualified dealer candidates, and expand territory coverage.
  • Support new-dealer onboarding and ensure alignment with CFMOTO's brand and operating standards.
  • Work with dealer principals to improve retail productivity, inventory turnover, PG&A penetration, and overall dealership performance.
  • Develop underperforming dealers through structured business improvement plans and consistent follow-up.
  • Strengthen dealer retail execution through sales team coaching, product knowledge, merchandising, and effective use of CFMOTO sales tools and programs.

3. Commercial Execution & Inventory Management

  • Maintain a structured territory coverage plan with regular dealer visits, performance reviews, and documented action plans.
  • Execute CFMOTO sales programs, retail promotions, product launches, and dealer demonstration initiatives.
  • Monitor dealer inventory levels, aging, sell-through, ordering, and floorplan utilization.
  • Identify inventory and potential credit risks, escalating concerns and coordinating with the appropriate internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and support effective product allocation.

4. Parts, Accessories & Aftersales Growth

  • Drive dealer participation and revenue growth across parts, accessories, oil, and EASY programs.
  • Identify dealers with low participation or below-target performance and implement targeted improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen dealer engagement, customer satisfaction, and retention.

5. Reporting & Accountability

  • Maintain accurate CRM/Wizsellr records, dealer visit reports, sales forecasts, and territory performance updates.
  • Establish measurable dealer-specific objectives and ensure timely follow-up on commitments.
  • Provide competitive intelligence, market insights, and recommendations to national sales leadership.

Operating Reality

  • British Columbia is a geographically diverse territory requiring extensive field travel and effective territory planning.
  • Dealer capabilities, market conditions, and competitive dynamics vary significantly across the province.
  • Strong dealer relationships are essential but must be supported by clear expectations, accountability, and measurable results.
  • The DSM must operate independently while collaborating effectively with Sales, Marketing, PG&A, Operations, Finance, and Aftersales teams to drive territory performance and support dealers.

Candidate Profile

Minimum of five years of experience in territory sales, business development, or dealer network management, preferably within powersports, automotive, marine, or a related industry.

  • Proven track record of developing territories, recruiting new business partners, and growing existing dealer accounts.
  • Strong understanding of dealership operations, commercial performance, and inventory management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to influence business owners and key decision-makers.
  • Entrepreneurial, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently with a high level of accountability.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with proficiency in CRM systems, dashboards, and Microsoft Office.
  • Based in British Columbia, with a valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively throughout the province.
  • English proficiency required; fluency in French is considered an asset.
