Job Title: Senior Data Architect

Job Location: Montreal, QC (3 days/week onsite)

Job Duration: Long Term

Our Challenge

We are seeking a Senior Architect to lead the design and evolution of secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective modern data platforms. This role will establish enterprise data architecture standards across lakehouse, data warehouse, integration, governance, and analytics environments while providing technical leadership to delivery teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Design modern data platforms using lakehouse, data warehouse, and Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion architecture patterns.
  • Develop dimensional, enterprise, logical, and physical data models.
  • Define batch, CDC, streaming, near-real-time, API integration, and workflow orchestration patterns.
  • Establish standards for pipeline dependencies, monitoring, error handling, recovery, and operational support.
  • Design data access, authentication, authorization, IAM, encryption, masking, and least-privilege security patterns.
  • Define governance operating models, including ownership, stewardship, lineage, cataloging, data quality, classification, and compliance.
  • Develop data lifecycle, retention, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
  • Optimize query performance, storage, compute utilization, scalability, reliability, and platform costs.
  • Lead architecture reviews, technical decisions, roadmaps, and solution documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, security, infrastructure, analytics, business, and application teams.
  • Mentor technical teams and ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards.

Skills:

  • 7+ years experience in data architecture, data engineering, enterprise architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Must have hands on experience with AWS, and Google Cloud.
  • Proven experience designing modern lakehouse and data warehouse platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of dimensional and enterprise data modeling.
  • Experience with batch processing, CDC, streaming, APIs, and workflow orchestration.
  • Strong understanding of data security, IAM, governance, privacy, and compliance.
  • Experience with technologies such as BigQuery and AirFlow is an advantage.

Pay: $72.00-$75.00 per hour
