Data Analyst

Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association (NLMA)

ethree Consulting is proud to partner with the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association in their search for a Data Analyst with The Family Practice Renewal Program (FPRP), a joint initiative of the NLMA and the Department of Health and Community Services (DHCS). The NLMA functions as the employer for staff of FPRP.

Who We Are
The Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association (NLMA) is the united voice of physicians across the province. As a member-driven, non-profit organization, we advance the political, clinical, and economic interests of the medical profession while championing a fair, accessible, and equitable health care system for all residents.

We believe that strong advocacy, strategic action, and a deep commitment to equity not only improve the working lives of physicians, but they also directly enhance patient care and health outcomes across the province. Through advocacy, collaboration, and leadership, we help shape the future of health care in Newfoundland and Labrador, ensuring the system evolves to meet the needs of patients, providers, and communities.

Our mission drives us to innovate with those we serve and to build a health system that is accessible, sustainable, and trusted by all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

The Family Practice Renewal Program (FPRP) aims to advance family practice for better health. We work closely with family medicine physicians, policymakers, and community organizations to identify opportunities for change and work towards solutions within primary care. Our vision is to see family physicians, primary health care providers and patients working together for an effective and sustainable system.

  • Data Inventory & Compliance: Maintain and update databases, including an online portal, ensuring a high degree of accuracy and quality. Provide accurate and timely data to support program evaluation, monitoring, and compliance activities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management: Support physician engagement through data-informed program materials, communications, and educational resources. Collaborate with internal teams and partners to identify and address program data needs, maximizing the effective use of data in decision-making.
  • Technology & Process Optimization: Facilitate the integration of new technologies to document data definitions, reporting logic, and processes to support consistency, knowledge sharing, and sustainability. Streamline workflows and improve overall efficiency in reporting.
  • Program Support: Complete other duties as required to support the priorities and initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in information management, analytics, reporting, business continuity, or digital transformation.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing health-related datasets (ie physician workforce data, health system utilization, primary care performance indicators or billing systems) preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to streamline processes and implement practical solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools including Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, SQL for data extraction and/or querying, data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau. Experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Python), and/or data collection administration via the Microsoft Office suite would be an asset.
