We are currently seeking experienced and productivity-driven Aerial Linemen, as well as motivated individuals new to the trade who want to learn, grow, and make a good living.
The Opportunity
In 2026, WPT has both existing and new projects spanning Ontario through British Columbia. Each project offers the opportunity to:
- Maximize earning potential through piece-rate work
- Build valuable skills in large-scale telecom construction
- Play a direct role in connecting communities across Canada
Key Responsibilities
- Place and pull telecommunications cable (copper, coax, and fibre) on aerial and underground infrastructure
- Enter telecommunications manholes to install cable as required
- Install, remove, and transfer aerial telecom infrastructure including poles, steel strand, lashing wire, and fibre cable
- Install telecommunications pedestals and vaults
- Read and interpret telecom design prints; update prints based on field conditions and progress
- Operate and maneuver equipment such as bucket trucks, flat decks, and reel trailers in tight or restricted areas
- Climb hydro and telecom poles using spurs, climbing belts, ladders, and full fall-protection systems
- Complete daily vehicle inspections, maintain clean and organized equipment, and participate in daily FLHAs
- Perform additional duties as assigned

A key requirement for this role is the ability and willingness to travel. WPT operates projects across Canada, and successful candidates must be comfortable working on the road.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Valid driver’s licence (Class 3 or Class 1 preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
- Experience operating heavy equipment and driving vehicles with air brakes (asset)
- Comfortable working at heights (up to 50 ft) and in all weather conditions
- Confined Space Entry, First Aid, and Fall Protection certifications are considered assets (training available)

Compensation
- Earnings vary based on productivity and piece-rate structure
- In 2025, Aerial Linemen earned an average of $550 per day
