Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Farm Equipment Operator to join our team at Ravenswood Ag. This role involves supporting daily farm operations, maintaining equipment, and assisting with crop production. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn about various farming techniques and machinery. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in horticulture and farm maintenance within a dynamic agricultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Seeding, Spraying, and Harvesting crops running equipment and being part of the team.
  • Operate farm machinery such as tractors, tillers, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform routine maintenance on irrigation systems, tools, and farm machinery to ensure optimal operation
  • Use hand tools and power tools for repairs, adjustments, and general farm upkeep
  • Support with heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, or harvested crops as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
  • Assist in pest control and crop protection activities as directed
  • Support general farm tasks including fencing, soil preparation, and landscape maintenance

Experience

  • Prior experience with farm machinery operation or agricultural work is preferred but not required; training will be provided
  • Knowledge of horticulture practices, irrigation systems, and basic maintenance is advantageous
  • Mechanical knowledge or experience with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation is beneficial
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
  • Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to planting or fertilizing schedules are helpful
  • Willingness to learn about farm operations, equipment maintenance, and safety procedures
