Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Sales Supervisor to lead our retail sales team and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily store operations, develop sales strategies, and ensure exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Technical skills and prior supervisory experience are highly desirable for this position.

Duties

  • Supervise and motivate sales staff to achieve individual and team sales targets
  • Oversee daily store operations, including merchandising, pricing, and inventory management
  • Implement effective sales strategies and marketing initiatives to increase store traffic and revenue
  • Manage payroll, cash handling, and bookkeeping activities with accuracy and integrity
  • Conduct recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new team members
  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly
  • Monitor POS systems, perform cashiering duties, and manage store opening/closing procedures
  • Develop staff through ongoing training & development programs to enhance sales skills and product knowledge
  • Coordinate purchasing decisions to maintain optimal stock levels while controlling costs
  • Manage budgeting processes and analyze sales data to inform business decisions
  • Uphold store policies, safety standards, and ensure compliance with company procedures

Qualifications

  • Proven supervising or retail management experience with a strong track record in sales management
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse customer bases
  • Proficiency with POS systems, merchandising tools, and basic administrative tasks such as bookkeeping and payroll processing
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to train & develop staff members
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies, pricing techniques, and store management best practices
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence with professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
  • Math skills necessary for cash handling, pricing adjustments, and financial recordkeeping

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
